Ada M. Schamle, Osage City

1908 - 2008

Ada M. Schamle, 99, died Friday, March 28, 2008, at Peterson Nursing Home in Osage City.
The daughter of Frank E. and Beatrice D. Gahagan Swanson, Ada was born Dec. 28, 1908, at Yuma, Colo. She attended Alpine School near Olivet.
She moved to Osage County in 1917 with her family and worked at Stienhoff Hatchery, Crosby Department Store and, for many years, as an aide at Stromgren Nursing Home.
She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Osage City.
She married Leo J. Schamle on Nov. 6, 1935, in Osage City. He died April 5, 1985.
She is survived by a sister, Sylvia Hansen, Lakewood, Colo.; and one brother, Ralph D. Swanson, Osage City.
Others who preceded her in death were five brothers, Thomas, Earl, Woodrow, Charlie and Harry Swanson, and two sisters, Ruth Warner and Mabel Jones.
She enjoyed traveling with her family, and liked to crochet and sew.
The Rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Osage City, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m.
Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
