Gladys Nadine Londeen, Huntsville, Texas

1928 - 2008

Former Admire resident Gladys Nadine Londeen of Huntsville, Texas, died Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at Conroe Regional Hospital in Conroe, Texas. She was 79.
The daughter of Harry and Alberta McClune Nielsen, she was born July 29, 1928, on a farm near Allen. She grew up in Admire where she attended grade school and high school. She married Wendell Londeen in spring 1950 at Topeka.
Mrs. Londeen worked for Capper Publications and the Santa Fe Railroad in Topeka. After marrying, she moved to Chapman and later to Enterprise. The Londeens moved to Hutchinson before moving to Texas in 1970. In Houston, Texas, Mrs. Londeen worked about 20 years for the National Child Care Centers and Children’s World Day Care Centers. She retired when she was 62.
Mrs. Londeen enjoyed taking care of her family, fishing, outdoor activities and taking drives.
She is survived by her husband; a son, Ronnie Londeen of Hockley, Texas; a daughter, Phyllis Legg of Huntsville; a brother, Murray Nielsen of Neosho Rapids; a sister, Josephine McAntee of Emporia; and nine grandchildren. Her parents and two children, Patricia Cariker and Gary Londeen, died earlier.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home. The Rev. Lee Hoskins of First Congregational Church will conduct the service. Burial will be in Admire Cemetery at Admire.
The family will meet friends from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
