Corinne "Corky" Louise, Wichita

1919 - 2008

Former Emporian Corinne Louise “Corky” See of Wichita died Wednesday, March 12, 2008. She was 89.
Mrs. See was an office administrator at Kansas State Teachers College in Emporia from 1963 until 1983. She and her husband, Harold, moved to Emporia in 1956. They previously lived at Chicago, Ill., Holland, Mich., and Kankakee, Ill. After retirement, they moved to a home on the lake in Grove, Okla., and in 2006 they moved to Wichita.
The daughter of Ernest and Elsie Rachau, she was born Jan. 13, 1919, at Chicago, Ill., where she grew up. She graduated from York Community High School and from Elmhurst Business College and attended Elmhurst College.
She married Harold Frend See on Sept. 27, 1941. He survives.
Mrs. See is also survived by one daughter, Barbara Smith of Wichita; two sons, Harold “Buddy” See Jr. of Wichita and Ronald See of Plano, Texas; Two sisters, Phyllis Rachau of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Inez Stewart of West Baraboo, Wis.; one brother, Ernest Rachau of Palatine, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A private family service was held, with a memorial service planned for July 4.
