Leola Violet Armstrong, Madison

Leola Armstrong died Monday, March 10, 2008, at her home in Madison.
Services are pending at the Wilson Funeral Home in Madison.
The funeral for Leola Violet Armstrong will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Wilson Funeral Home in Madison. The Rev. James T. Akers will conduct the service. Burial will be in Number Eight Cemetery, east of Madison.
The family suggests that, instead of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Hand in Hand Hospice and sent in care of the Wilson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 488, Madison, KS 66860.
Mrs. Armstrong died Monday, March 10, 2008, at her home in Madison. She was 71.
She grew up in Eureka and spent most of her life in the Madison community. She was a homemaker and also worked for several years at Engle’s Grocery Store.
The daughter of William and Olive Sumner Louis, she was born Feb. 4, 1937, at Eureka. She married Charles Armstrong on Sept. 4, 1954, at Howard. He survives.
Mrs. Armstrong is also survived by two daughters, DeAnn Wagner of Madison and Michelle Cole of Kansas City, Mo.; one brother, William Maltby of Madison; four sisters, Carol Scheck of Madison, Mary Ann Bumgardner of Eureka and Doris McIlvain and Jeannie Hestand, both of Wichita; five grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
