Donald G. Scheck, Madison

1930 - 2008

Donald G. Scheck, a longtime resident of Madison, died Saturday, March 8, 2008, at Newman Regional Health. He was 77.
Mr. Scheck was a tube mill operator for Modine Manufacturing in Emporia before he retired. He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War, having served from 1951 to 1953.
The son of George and Selma Kuhn Scheck, he was born Dec. 8, 1930, in rural Olpe. He grew up in Madison, where he lived all of his life.
He married M. Carol Sumner on June 11, 1966, at Madison. She survives.
Mr. Scheck was a member of the Flint Hills Christian Church.
He is also survived by two sons, Ty Scheck and Todd Scheck, both of Madison; three sisters, Maxine Yockey of Lebo, Mildred Hailey of Augusta and Esther Wade of Lakeland, Fla.; and two grandchildren. Two sisters died earlier.
Mr. Scheck was cremated. The time and place of the memorial service will be announced by the Wilson Funeral Home in Madison.
MADISON
The memorial service for Donald G. Scheck of Madison will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Harvest House at the Flint Hills Christian Church in Emporia.
The family suggests that, instead of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Flint Hills Christian Church and sent in care of the Wilson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 488, Madison, KS 66860.
Mr. Scheck’s obituary was published Monday.
