John Donald Joss, Lebo

John Donald Joss of Lebo died Thursday, March 6, 2008, at Newman Regional Health. He was 65.
Mr. Joss retired in September 2007 as supervisor from the Emporia State University Power Plant after 35 years of service. As a child, he worked at Woodbury’s farm in Olivet and as a young adult worked at Crawford Manufacturing in Emporia.
The son of Vernald Donald and Sybil Esther Peters Joss, he was born Sept. 10, 1942, at Burlingame. He graduated from Olivet High School in 1961.
He married Deanna Zink on April 20, 1969. She survives.
Mr. Joss was a member of the United Methodist Church in Lebo.
He is also survived by five sons, John Joss of Lebo, Jim Wray of Emporia, Joey Montgomery of Burlington, Travis Edwards of El Dorado and Dan Edwards of Frederick, Colo.; two daughters, Melissa Tyson of Omaha, Neb., and Connie Ruszezyk of San Bernardino, Calif.; two sisters, Donna Davis of Lyndon and Carol Frasure of Chapman; one brother, David Joss of Topeka; and seven grandchildren. Mr. Joss and his wife were foster parents to many children and grandchildren for 35 years.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church in Lebo. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery at Lebo.
Memorial contributions to the Hospital Dads Transportation Fund at the Arab Shrine Temple may be sent in care of the Jones VanArsdale Funeral Home, 107 W. Sixth St., Lebo, KS 66856.
