Doris L. Hoy died Friday, Feb. 29, 2008, at Brookside Manor in Overbrook. She was 86.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Overbrook Methodist Church. The family will meet friends from noon until service time at the church. Burial will be in Ridgeway Cemetery at Overbrook.

Doris L. Hoy died Friday, Feb. 29, 2008, at Brookside Manor in Overbrook. She was 86.
Mrs. Hoy helped her husband farm and also worked at the Meat Locker Plant in Overbrook for 12 and one-half years. She later worked for the State of Kansas and as a home health provider.
The daughter of John W. and Marie Shirley James, she was born June 18, 1921, at Richland. She married Floyd Hoy on Dec. 12, 1941, at Holton. He died in September 1991.
Mrs. Hoy was a member of the Overbrook Methodist Church. She also was a member of a flower club and Royal Neighbors. She was a 4-H leader for 15 years and served on the Howard school board for many years.
She is survived by two daughters, Betty Potenza of Lebo and Linda Post of Lyndon; one sister, Donna Moore of Topeka; six grandchildren; and three great-grandsons.
