Barbara Jean Rifenbark, Burlington

1942 - 2008

Barbara Jean Rifenbark died Saturday, March 1, 2008, at Coffey County Hospital in Burlington. She was 65.
The daughter of Glenn W. and Helen E. Dixon Rifenbark, she was born July 22, 1942, at Burlington.
Miss Rifenbark worked in Topeka, Denver and Kansas City before she returned to Burlington. In Burlington, she worked at Hoover’s Thriftway for several years and also at Arnold’s Greenhouse, Huff’s Gardens and Bob’s IGA. She also helped her father on the farm.
She was a member of the New Strawn Community Christian Church at New Strawn.
She is survived by a brother, Alfred Glenn Rifenbark of Joplin, Mo., several nieces and nephews, and her caregivers, Cerece Lawson and David and Pam Noonan. Her parents died earlier.
The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Jones Funeral Home in Burlington. Burial will be in Logan Cemetery, east of Burlington. The family will meet friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
The family suggests that, instead of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the church or a charity of the donor’s choice and sent in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 277, Burlington, KS 66839.
