E. Dale Cox, Wichita

1917 - 2008

Burlington native E. Dale Cox of Wichita died Monday, Jan. 28, 2008, at the Kansas Masonic Home in Wichita, where he moved in 2000. He was 90.
Mr. Cox, who lived in Wichita for most of his adult life, worked for Boeing Aircraft for 38 years before he retired.
The son of Erna and Stella Turner Cox, he was born Sept. 21, 1917, at Burlington. He grew up in Burlington and graduated from Burlington High School.
He married Rita C. Jauering on May 16, 1938, at Burlington. She died Nov. 9, 1997.
Mr. Cox was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church and the Knights of Columbus in Wichita.
He is survived by two sons, Joseph Cox of Wichita and Larry Cox of Las Vegas, Nev.; one daughter, Luanne Fry of Hutchinson; two brothers, Frank Cox of Cassoday and Pete Cox of Burlington; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Francis Catholic Church in Burlington. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at Burlington. The rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Jones Funeral Home in Burlington, after which the family will meet friends.
