Kenneth L. Allen, Osage City

1930 - 2008

Kenneth L. Allen of Osage City died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2008, at a Topeka hospital after an extended illness. He was 77.
The son of Kenneth M. and Zella Mae Allen, he was born July 16, 1930. He graduated from Burlington High School in 1947, from the University of Kansas and from Emporia State University with a master’s degree.
He married Norma Jean Hoover. They were divorced. He married Sylvia Margaret “Peggy” Baker on June 21, 1974. She survives.
Mr. Allen is also survived by two daughters, Kathleen Duncan and Kala Hisel, both of Topeka; two stepsons, Lonny Baker of Osage City and Alvin Baker of Holton; one stepdaughter, Cyndi Paul of Whiting; four grandchildren; eight step grandchildren; three great-granddaughters and 12 step great-grandchildren.
The graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the American Cemetery at Osage City.
Memorial contributions to the Humane Society may be sent in care of the VanArsdale Funeral Chapel, 107 N. Sixth St., Osage City, KS 66523.
