Lois Marie Vaugh, Winona, Mo.
1930 - 2008
Former area resident Lois Marie Vaugh of Winona, Mo., died Friday, Jan. 11, 2008, at St. John’s Medical Center in Springfield, Mo. She was 77.
Mrs. Vaugh began working at Western Electric in 1963 where she worked for more than 20 years. Earlier, she was a nurses aide. After she and her husband retired, they moved to the John Redmond area. After his death in 1999, she returned to Winona.
The daughter of Toney and Minnie Johnson Barnes, she was born March 20, 1930, at Shannon County, Mo. She grew up in Winona and graduated from Winona High School in 1949.
She married William Gale “Bill” Vaugh on April 15, 1950, at Arkansas. He died Oct. 11, 1999.
Mrs. Vaugh is survived by one son, William “Sonny” Vaugh Jr., of Jacobs Creek; two daughters, Connie Runnels and Marcia Sell, both of Jacobs Creek; one sister, Beulah Pulliam of Parker, Mo.; one brother, William Barnes of Stokesberry, Mo.; 14 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Roberta Strickland; two brothers, Floyd Barnes and Ray Barnes; and two great-granddaughters died earlier.
The graveside service was today in Strawn Cemetery at Jacobs Creek.
