Marjorie Elizabeth Huffman Walker Weeks, Council Grove

Marjorie Elizabeth Walker Weeks of Council Grove died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2008, at the Council Grove Healthcare Center. She was 93.
Mrs. Weeks worked in Council Grove and Emporia in the restaurant business and also worked at the Council Grove nursing home. She helped her first husband refurbish and repair furniture. She lived in Council Grove since 1947.
The daughter of Harvey and Minnie Ayers Huffman, she was born March 29, 1914, at Halstead. She married Ralph Walker in 1938. He died in 1980. She married Lloyd Weeks in 1985. He died in 1995.
Mrs. Weeks attended the Berean Baptist Church in Council Grove.
She is survived by a daughter, Lea Page Walker of Council Grove; two stepsons, Clifford Weeks of McLouth and Lloyd Dean Weeks of Iola; six step-granddaughters; one stepgrandson; and several great-grandchildren. Three sisters, Ethel Zurbuchen, Edith Hefling and Maxine Bohrer, died earlier.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Berean Baptist Church. The Rev. Tim Kemp will conduct the service. Burial will be in Homestead Cemetery in Chase County. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to service time at the church.
