Former Emporia resident Lisa D. Ragsdale of Shawnee died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2008, at the University of Kansas Hospital. She was 44.
The daughter of Rex and Margaret Wilson, she was born Feb. 4, 1963, at Pratt. She married Brent P. Ragsdale 16 years ago and they lived in Emporia for eight years, where she attended Kansas State Teachers College in Emporia. They moved to Shawnee in 1996. He survives.
Mrs. Ragsdale was actively involved with her family and the children’s schools.
She is also survived by four children, Blaine, Logan, Jeremy and Vivian, all of the home; her parents of Marion; one brother, Kevin Wilson of Bentonville, Ark.; a foster brother, Kevin McGahee of Shawnee; and her maternal grandmother, Florence Macy of Marion.
The memorial service will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Shawnee Presbyterian Church in Shawnee. Friends may call from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday at the church.
The family suggests that, instead of flowers, memorial contributions be sent to Families Thru International Adoption, P.O. Box 10, Stilwell, KS 66085 in support of Children’s Hope House in Romania or be made to an education fund for the children and sent in care of any Commerce Bank.
