Viola Stallard Jones, Lebo

1914 - 2008

The funeral service for Viola Stallard Jones will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the Lebo Baptist Church. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery at Lebo. Viewing will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Mrs. Jones, 93, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008, at Sunset Manor in Waverly.
Memorial contributions to Lebo Baptist Church, Hand in Hand Hospice or Sunset Manor may be sent in care of Jones VanArsdale Funeral Home, 107 W. Sixth, Lebo KS 66856.
Viola Carpenter, the daughter of Elmer P. and Laura Hunt Carpenter, was born July 22, 1914, near Carney, Okla. She graduated from high school in Carney.
She married L.L. Stallard on Oct. 6, 1933. They later divorced.
She married Thomas H. Jones on Aug. 20, 1955, and lived in Lebo until 2004. Mr. Jones died Dec. 8, 1984.
Mrs. Jones had been a member of the Lebo Baptist Church and a 40-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Orphah Chapter 140, in Lebo. She recently was a member of White Rose Chapter 297 in Gridley.
She is survived by a daughter, Beverly S. Duncan of Lebo; a son, Charles D. Stallard of Perkins, Okla.; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by a son, Fred L. Stallard, two sisters, and three brothers.
