Thearle D. Beemer Burton, Bentonville, Ark.

Former Emporian Thearle D. Burton of Bentonville, Ark., died Friday, Dec. 28, 2007, at a medical center in Bentonville. She was 74.
Mrs. Burton taught home economics at Laken High School in Laken, Kan., for four years. She moved from Hutchinson to northwest Arkansas in 1970.
The daughter of Edward J. and Martha Unruh Beemer, she was born Oct. 13, 1933, at Hope. She graduated from Emporia High School in 1951 and from Ottawa University in 1955.
She married Owen Dempsey Burton in 1959. He died in 1995.
Mrs. Burton was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Bentonville, where she worked with “Mission Friends” and the children.
She is survived by two daughters, Deborah “Debbie” Simpson of Bentonville, and Sarah Burton of Centerton, Ark.; two sisters, Carol Hind of Madison and Janice Randall of Mound City; one brother, Kevin Beemer of Gilbert, Ariz.; and four grandchildren. Two brothers, Larry Beemer and Arlen Beemer, died earlier.
The funeral was Jan. 2 at the First Baptist Church in Bentonville, Ark. Burial was in Bentonville Cemetery.
