Mary "Evelyn" Knight, Lebo

1912 - 2008

Mary “Evelyn” Knight of Lebo died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008, at the Sunset Manor in Waverly. She was 95.
Mrs. Knight farmed with her husband, Walter, on the family farm, where she lived for 75 years, east of Lebo in the Key West community.
The daughter of Ezra and Lorena Anstaett Baker, she was born March 15, 1912, at Osawatomie. She graduated from Osage City High School in 1930.
She married Walter F. “Rip” Knight on April 23, 1930, at Paola. He died June 7, 1991.
Mrs. Knight is survived by one daughter, Delores Wallace of Lebo; two sons, Daryl Knight and Terry Knight, both of Lebo; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren. A daughter, Sharon VanArsdale, died April 21, 1994. Twin sons, Jay Knight and Ray Knight, died at birth. A sister, Lillian Baker, and a brother, Raymond Baker, also died earlier.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Jones VanArsdale Funeral Home in Lebo. Burial will be in Key West Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
