LaMoyne Mercer, Eskridge

1919 - 2008

ESKRIDGE
LaMoyne Mercer died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2008, at her home in rural Eskridge. She was 88.
Mrs. Mercer was a partner with her husband on their dairy farm.
The daughter of William and Bertha McEndree Prescott, she was born March 6, 1919, at Bradford. She graduated from Eskridge High School in 1936.
She married George Mercer on July 28, 1941. He survives.
Mrs. Mercer was a member of the Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the Eskridge Social Club, a life-long member of 4-H and helped in the community.
She is also survived by two sons, William Mercer and Joe Mercer, both of Eskridge; one sister, Faye Howard of Osage City; one brother, Dean Prescott of Burlingame; two sisters, Arlene Butler of Leavenworth and Marvis Peterson of Wichita; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Presbyterian Church in Eskridge. Burial will be in Eskridge Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the VanArsdale Funeral Chapel in Eskridge.
