Juan Segobia Sr., Emporia
1926 - 2008
Juan Segobia Sr., died Monday, Feb. 25, 2008, at his home at the Broadview Towers, 110 W. Sixth Ave. He was 82.
The son of Santos and Christina Segovia, he was born Aug. 13, 1926, at McAllen, Texas.
Mr. Segobia came to western Kansas in the mid 1960s from Yampa, Colo., to work for a road construction company. He and his family moved from Hutchinson to Emporia in 1982, where they lived until the late 1980s when he retired and moved to Elmdale. He returned to Emporia in 2006.
Mr. Segobia is survived by three sons, Juan Segobia Jr., of Emporia, Mario Segobia of Wichita and Frank Segobia of Texas; one daughter, Anyta Parido of Kansas City, Mo.; three grandchildren, Kate, Alex and Abbey Segobia of Emporia; and his former companion and mother of his children, Rose Madrigal of Wichita.

The memorial service will be held later. The graveside service will be at 2 p.m. at the Pomona Cemetery at Pomona.
