1930 - 2008

LENEXA
The Rev. Donald Wayne Frogge, former minister at the First United Methodist Church in Emporia, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008. He was 77.
Rev. Frogge served as a minister for 37 years, beginning his work at Upland and Alida parishes in rural Kansas. His ministry in the Kansas East Conference of the United Methodist Church also included Horton, Topeka, Leavenworth, Fairway, Shawnee, and Olathe. After he retired, he was Hospice Chaplain at Olathe Medical Center and St. Luke’s South Hospital in southern Johnson County.
He was born Nov. 29, 1930, at Climax. He married his wife, Louise, in 1953. She died in 2002.
Rev. Frogge is survived by three daughters, Susan Cockrum of Lenexa, Cindy Medina of Olathe and Karla Slaymaker of Bay Village, Ohio; and four grandchildren.
The memorial service will be at 1 p.m. March 1 at Old Mission United Methodist Church in Fairway. The family will meet friends at noon before the service.
The family suggests that, instead of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Pioneer Fund, which was begun by the Rev. Frogge and others in the 1980s to establish new churches. Contributions may be sent to The Pioneer Fund, Kansas East Conference Treasurer, 4201 SW 15th, Topeka, KS 66604.
Messages to the family may be left at www.PenwellGabel.com.
