George Alan Buttenhoff, Shawnee

1989 - 2008

George Alan Buttenhoff of Shawnee was found dead Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2008, at Shawnee. He was 18.
Mr. Buttenhoff was a student and played hockey for the Kansas City Metro Hockey League.
The son of Karl F. and Sherri A. Burgess Buttenhoff, he was born May 26, 1989, at Hackettstown, N.J.
Mr. Buttenhoff was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Shawnee, where he was an altar boy for many years, one who has served the longest time. He also was an Eagle Scout.
He is survived by his mother of Shawnee; and his grandparents, Gary Sr. and Patty Burgess of Emporia and Orville and Roberta Buttenhoff of Topeka. His father died Sept. 11, 2003. His grandmother, Mary Burgess, died Dec. 22, 2000.
The memorial service will be at noon Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Shawnee. Monsignor Robert Bergman of the Cathedral of St. Patrick will conduct the service. Mr. Buttenhoff was cremated. Burial will be at a later date.
