Eleanor Ann Thompson, Eskridge
1940 - 2008
Eleanor Ann Thompson of Eskridge died Monday, Feb. 4, 2008, at a Topeka hospital. She was 67.
Mrs. Thompson and her husband were farmers and ranchers and worked in Harveyville, Allen, Satanta, Great Bend and Council Grove.
The daughter of Melvin and Margaret Leeburg Provost, she was born May 20, 1940. She graduated from Harveyville High School in 1958. She and her family lived in Strong City from 1945 to 1952, when they moved south of Harveyville.
She married Jim Thompson Jr., on March 6, 1959. He survives.
Mrs. Thompson is also survived by a son, Jay Thompson of Norton; a daughter, Rita Mills of Eskridge, where Mrs. Thompson was living at the time of her death; two brothers, Max Provost of Burlingame and Keith Huth of Cottonwood Falls; and two grandchildren.
The memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Harveyville United Methodist Church, after which the family will meet friends. Mrs. Thompson was cremated. The private inurnment will be at a later date.
