Branden Lee Bowman, Council Grove

The funeral service for Branden Lee Bowman, 25, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Penwell-Gabel Flint Hills Chapel in Council Grove. The Rev. Clarence Sumner will conduct the service. Burial will be in Sunnyslope Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Bowman, who had lived in Council Grove, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2008, of injuries sustained in a one-vehicle rollover accident on the Dunlap Road.
He had worked the past six months for Jerry’s Concrete in Council Grove.
The son of Rick A. Bowman and Carolyn S. Michaelis, he was born March 12, 1982, at Fort Riley. He graduated in 2000 from Council Grove High School, where he had been a member of the wrestling team for four years.
Mr. Bowman is survived by his mother and stepfather, Gary and Carolyn Wirtz of Council Grove; his father of Chillicothe, Ohio; a brother, Jeremy A. Bowman of Council Grove; a stepsister, Brianna Bowman of Chillicothe, Ohio; grandparents, Carl and Mary Bowman of Welaka, Fla.; and stepgrandfather, Francis Osgood of Council Grove.
His grandmother, Vera Osgood, and his grandfather, George L. Michaelis, died earlier.
