Florence Senn, 81, of Emporia died this morning at her home.
Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
The funeral for Florence Ruth Senn of Emporia will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Grace United Methodist Church. The Rev. Gary Harms of Leavenworth and the Rev. Mic McGuire will conduct the service. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, west of Olpe.
Memorial contributions to the Grace United Methodist Church First Fruit Building Fund or Hand in Hand Hospice may be sent in care of the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, P.O. Box 175, Emporia, KS 66801.
Mrs. Senn died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, at her home. She was 81.
The daughter of Harry Elmer and Esther Lotty Mockry Hufferd, she was born April 21, 1926, at Olpe. She married John H. Senn on Jan. 24, 1943, at Emporia. He survives.
Mrs. Senn was a member of Grace United Methodist Church for 63 years, where she taught, sang in the choir and held many leadership roles in local and regional offices of the United Methodist Women. She was a longtime member of the Newman Regional Health Auxiliary, twice holding the office as president, and worked many years as manager of the hospital gift shop. She also was a scout leader and room mother.
She is also survived by three daughters, Anita O’Dell of Emporia, Lanna Shepherd of Olathe and Nancy Senn of Waukee, Iowa; one son, Keith Senn of Reading; one sister, Lois Miller of McPherson; one brother, Kenneth Hufferd of Louisburg; nine grandchildren; and three grandchildren. One great-grandson, Jacob Graen, died earlier.
