The funeral for Ralph Leroy Martin will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Charter Funerals Emporia Chapel. The Rev. Bob Robison will conduct the service. Burial, with military honors conducted by American Legion Ball-McColm Post 5 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Lowry-Funston Post 1980, will be in Chalk Cemetery, north of Bushong.
The family suggests that, instead of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Ralph Martin Memorial Fund and sent in care of the Emporia State Federal Credit Union, 310 W. 12th Ave., Emporia, KS 66801 or in care of the funeral home, 501 W. Sixth Ave., Emporia, KS 66801.
Mr. Martin, formerly of Emporia, died earlier this week at his home in Friend, Neb. He was 64.
He was retired. Mr. Martin was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
The son of Louis Earl and Lula Alice Adolph Martin, he was born June 1, 1943, at Bushong.
Mr. Martin is survived by one daughter, Angela Wilson of Emporia; one son, Troy Martin of Duncan, Okla.; five sisters, Mary Blankley of Council Grove, Loretta Schaffstall of Andover, Betty Carter of Lincoln, Neb., Jeannie Gravatt of Indianapolis, Ind., and LaVeda Horst of Mason City, Ill.; one brother, John C. Martin of Yellsville, Ark.; and one granddaughter. His parents; and a sister, Reva Baumbgarner, died earlier.
