Magaret Mildred Corbin, Osage City
OSAGE CITY
Margaret Mildred Corbin of Osage City died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2007, at the Osage Nursing Center in Osage City. She was 86.
Mrs. Corbin was a home health visitor for newborn infants in Osage County. She previously worked at Howard’s Fabric Store in Osage City. She also was a secretary and receptionist at the Osage County Senior Center in Osage City.
The daughter of Charles Loring and Margaret Crone Wallace, she was born May 9, 1921, in Humboldt. She graduated from Osage City High School in 1939. She lived in Japan, Colorado and Texas while her husband was in the service.
She married Robert L. Corbin on April 30, 1942. He died Feb. 19, 1971.
Mrs. Corbin was a member of the United Methodist Church in Osage City and the United Methodist Women. She was active in the Red Cross and worked at the Blood Mobile.
She had been a Girl Scout leader and was active in the PTA when her daughters were in school. She wrote poems and had a book published.
She is survived by four daughters, Lisa Gordon of Osage City, Roberta Easton of Burlingame, Rosalie Tobias of Bloomington, Ill., and Carol Remer of Battle Creek, Iowa; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Two brothers, Dale Wallace and Charles “Gene” Wallace, died earlier.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Osage City. Burial will be at Osage Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at the VanArsdale Funeral Home in Osage City. Friends also may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
