Oleta Mae Webster, Louisburg

Former Burlington resident Oleta Mae “Jackie” Webster of Louisburg died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2007, at St. Luke’s South Hospital in Overland Park. She was 93.
Mrs. Webster worked at Wilson and Jones Bookbinding in Kansas City, Mo. During World War II, she worked as a “Rosie the Riveter” at Pratt and Whitney. Before the war, she worked with handicapped children at the Delano School.
The daughter of Albert and Pearl Crawford White, she was born July 14, 1914, at Rockville, Mo. She grew up in Kansas City, Mo., where she attended school.
She married Chester Lee Webster on Jan. 3, 1948, in Kansas City, Mo. They retired to the Ottumwa community near Burlington in September 1967. Mr. Webster died on April 23, 1985.
She moved to Burlington in 1992 and spent the last 10 years in assisted living, first in Ottawa and more recently in Vintage Park in Louisburg.
Mrs. Webster was a member and chaplain of the Eagles Auxiliary and member of the VFW Auxiliary, both in Burlington. She was actively involved with the Burlington Senior Center, where she was in charge of and participated in the dances. She also raised peacocks.
She is survived by three daughters, Kathy Morgan of Overland Park, Phyllis Koch of Kansas City, Mo., and Judy Lee Wallace of Fort Smith, Ark.; one sister, Betty Driver of Kansas City, Mo.; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
One brother, Lester White, and a sister, Marjorie Lawson, also died earlier.
The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the First Christian Church in Burlington. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery at Burlington. The family will meet friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Jones Funeral Home in Burlington.
