Hartford native Frances Louise Rogers, 88, died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2007, in Las Cruces, N.M.
She was born Nov. 6, 1918, in Hartford, the daughter of Charles and Katherine Shull. She graduated from Burlington High School. She attended Newman Memorial Hospital Nursing School, graduating in 1940, and also attended New Mexico State University in the 1960s. She married Jack L. Rogers on June 1, 1940.
Mrs. Rogers worked as a nurse in Kansas City, Kan., Emporia, Belle Fourche, S.D., and in Texas and New Mexico. While her children were growing up, she stayed at home as a full-time mom. She was a member and Sunday school teacher at the First Baptist Church in Las Cruces.
She is survived by two sons Charles W. Rogers of Minneapolis, Minn., and Jack E. Rogers of Ruidoso, N.M.; two daughters, Trula E. Holstein of Las Cruces and Sheila K. Gloer of Waco, Texas; one, brother Charles Shull of St. Louis, Mo.; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in January 2006 and one brother, Morris Shull.
Memorial Services were Friday in Las Cruces.
Memorial donations may be made to the Jack L. and Frances L. Rogers Endowed Nursing Scholarship at New Mexico State University.
