Clyde Eugene Lake, Ponca City, Oklahoma

1929 - 2007

Clyde Eugene Lake, former Ponca City resident and the father of Gene Lake and Susan Hutchinson of Emporia, died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2007, at the Oklahoma Veterans Hospital in Oklahoma City. He was 78.
Mr. Lake was born Sept. 9, 1929, in Ponca City, the son of Wilbur and Lillian Brown Lake. He served in the United States Navy Reserve and the United States Army Air Corps, serving from July 3, 1947 to January 12, 1950.
He was a Past Master of the Masonic Lodge of Tonkawa and was a member of the Scottish Rite of Guthrie, and past member of the Eagles Club and Sertoma Club.
Besides his Emporia children, he is survived by five daughters, one son, two stepsons, 18 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Christian Church. Masonic Rites will be recited by the Masonic Lodge of Tonkawa. Arrangements are under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
