Margurite L. Bass, Chanute

Margurite L. Bass of Chanute, the mother of Wayne G. Bass of Emporia, died Sept. 4, 2007, at a hospital in Chanute. She was 99.
The daughter of William and Mary Crawley Fisher, she was born Aug. 1, 1908, in Olivet. She married Jessie L. Bass on April 12, 1934. He died earlier.
Other survivors include another son, Heraldo Leo Bass of Gas City; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral was Sept. 7 at the Church of God in Chanute and burial was at Memorial Cemetery in Chanute.
