Glen Ira Hatch, Americus

1941 - 2007

Glen Hatch died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2007, at his home in rural Americus.
Services are pending at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.
The funeral for Glen Ira Hatch will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home. The Rev. Brenda Ulrich of the United Presbyterian Church in Americus and the Rev. Allen R. Epp of Emporia will conduct the service. Burial will be in Americus Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions to Hand in Hand Hospice or the United Presbyterian Church in Americus may be sent in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 175, Emporia, KS 66801.
Mr. Hatch died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2007, at his home in Americus. He was 66.
He was a longtime farmer and stockman. He served in the National Guard.
The son of Ira Jacob and Velda Hazel Stauffer Hatch, he was born April 6, 1941, in rural Gridley. He married Elizabeth Peterson in 1962 at Yates Center. They were divorced. He married Ernestine Finney on Aug. 19, 1988. She survives.
Mr. Hatch was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Americus where he also was an elder. He was a member of the Kansas Livestock Association and the Lyon County Soil Conservation board.
He is also survived by one son, Donald Glen Hatch of Americus; one daughter, Rene Lynn Hatch of Derby; two stepsons, Bryan Finney of Americus and Tim Finney of Allen; one stepdaughter, Juleen Young of Madison; two brothers, Ivan Hatch of Meriden and Wayne Hatch of Augusta; two sisters, Ruth Casillan of Huntington Beach, Calif., and Alice Shull of Arizona; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandaughter. A daughter, Brenda Donelle; and a brother, Albert Hatch, died earlier.
