Ray Lee Vogts, Olpe

1937 - 2007

Ray Lee Vogts died Friday, Oct. 19, 2007, at his home in Olpe. He was 70.
Mr. Vogts worked in the shipping department at Bunge for 41 years and also farmed.
The son of Claus and Meta Brandt Vogts, he was born Jan. 3, 1937, at Goessel. He married Margaret Wilson on Dec. 18, 1961, at the courthouse in Cottonwood Falls. She survives.
Mr. Vogts was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church.
He is also survived by three sons, Todd Vogts, Shawn Vogts and Roy Vogts, all of Olpe; four daughters, LaDonna Vogts of Emporia, Gail Johnson of Olpe, Anna Kidwell of Louisville, Ky., and Tasha Domingue of Pensacola, Fla.; one sister, Ella Lawson of Emporia; and 10 grandchildren. Six brothers and six sisters died earlier.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Messiah Lutheran Church. The Rev. Norbert Tegtmeier of the church will conduct the service. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in rural Olpe.
