Jimmie D. Straw, Madison
The funeral for Jimmie D. Straw of Madison was today at the United Methodist Church in Madison. The Rev. Tony Lantz and the Rev. Bobby Massey conducted the service. Burial was in Number Eight Cemetery east of Madison.

Mr. Straw died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2007, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. He was 69.
He was a diesel mechanic and warrentee clerk for Cummins Sales and Services until he retired in 1999. He returned to Madison in 2003 from Sedgwick. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served from 1956 to 1960.
The son of Charles L. and Thelma L. Treadway Straw, he was born Aug. 7, 1938, at Bartlesville, Okla. He graduated from Madison High School in 1956.
He married Lila K. Sells on July 14, 1962, at Madison. She survives.
Mr. Straw was a member of the Life Church Assembly of God in Emporia.
He is also survived by one son, Randy Straw of Denver, Colo.; three daughters, Rachel Straw of Sedgwick, Jennifer Straw of Wichita and April Mullendore of West Point, Ga.; four sisters, Sandra Straw and Shirley Wehry, both of El Dorado, Jan Farmer of Wichita and Beverly Spicer of Bartlesville, Okla.; and eight grandchildren. His parents; one brother, Robert Straw; two sisters, Nancy Smith and Carolyn Straw; and one grandson, Josiah Straw, died earlier.
