Donald Joseph Rosetta, Osage City

1932 - 2007

Donald Joseph Rosetta died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2007, at his home in Osage City. He was 75.
Mr. Rosetta was a manager at Hallmark Cards in Osage City before he retired. He previously operated the Phillips 66 station in Osage City and worked for Santa Fe Railroad.
The son of Humbert S. and Grace V. Bailey Rosetta, he was born Jan. 27, 1932, at Osage City. He graduated from Osage City High School.
He married Carolyn J. Christesen Griffith on May 2, 1970, at the First Presbyterian Church in Osage City. She survives.
Mr. Rosetta was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles 3890, of which he had been local and state president. He also was a member of the Osage City Country Club. He spent many hours doing volunteer work at the Eagles and Country Club.
He is also survived by four daughters, Donna J. Rosetta-Thompson, Patty Brenner and Sharrell Davidson, all of Osage City, and Carol Williams of Elkhart, Ind.; three sons, Robert Rosetta of Jacksonville, Fla., Gary Rosetta of San Antonio, Texas, and Gary Griffith of Osage City; three sisters, Rosalie Wollesen of Topeka, Delores Anstaett of Lyndon and Coleen Edds of Cortez, Colo.; three brothers, Humbert E. Rosetta of Osage City, Larry Rosetta of Topeka and Richard Rosetta of Salt Lake City, Utah; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A son, Cary Griffith; and a brother, Albert Wayne Rosetta, died earlier.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church in Osage City. Burial will be in Osage City Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the VanArsdale Funeral Chapel in Osage City.
Memorial contributions to the Donald J. Rosetta Memorial Fund for State Eagles Cancer Fund may be sent in care of the funeral home, 107 N. Sixth St., Osage City, KS 66523.
