The graveside service for Helen Estella Holmquist, formerly of Hutchinson, will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Bazaar Cemetery at Bazaar. The Rev. Jim Bartsch of the Flint Hills Community Church will conduct the service. Friends may call from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home.

Mrs. Holmquist died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007, at the Golden Living Center of Chase County in Cottonwood Falls. She was 97.
The daughter of Nels and Anna Westfall Bystrom, she was born Oct. 17, 1909, at Oberlin. She married Alfred Arnold “Swede” Holmquist on April 14, 1934. They lived in Norton from 1948 until 1956 where she was a homemaker and he was an engineer for the Kansas Department of Transportation. They then lived in Hutchinson where Mr. Holmquist died Feb. 14, 1979.
Mrs. Holmquist, who joined the Methodist Church when she was 15, was an active member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Hutchinson.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Lea Stout of Bazaar and Carole Ann Paramore of Shawnee; a sister, Martha Christine Worley of Idaho Falls, Idaho; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Two brothers, Wilber Bystrom and Richard Bystrom, died earllier.
