Kelsey Lynn Cunningham, White city

1993 - 2007

Kelsey Lynn Cunningham of White City died Friday, Sept. 28, 2007, of injuries received in an automobile accident. She was 14.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the White City United Methodist Church in White City. The family will meet friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the church. Friends also may call from noon to 4 p.m. today at the Penwell-Gabel Council Grove Chapel.
The daughter of Bill and Shelly Sangwin Cunningham, she was born March 5, 1993, at Council Grove.
Miss Cunningham graduated from White City Junior High School in May 2007. She played on the White City Softball Team and had played for the White City Junior High School Huskies in basketball, volleyball and track.
She also played the saxophone in the Junior High Band. She was a member of the gifted program at White City High School and had entered an award-winning poster for the “Don’t Spoil It” calendar. She also was very active as a member of the Willing Workers 4H Club.
She was a member of the White City United Methodist Church where she helped with Vacation Bible School. She also participated in Awana’s Children’s Ministry at Parkerville Baptist Church, first as a student, then as a helper.
She is survived by her parents of White City; four sisters, Brooke Cunningham, Teri Cunningham and Kaylee Cunningham, all of the home, and Miranda Peck of Fort Worth; and her grandparents, Buck and Joyce Sangwin of White City and Libby Cunningham of Council Grove. Her aunt, Pat Cunningham, of Emporia also survives.
Her grandfather, Donald “Sandy” Cunningham, and her great-grandparents, Alvin and Marjorie Nienstedt and Bud and Kate Sangwin, died earlier.
