Beatrice Irene Morgan, Emporia
1926 - 2007
Emporia native Beatrice Irene “Bede” Morgan died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2007, at her home in Omaha, Neb. She was 81.
Mrs. Morgan, who was reared in Emporia, worked at Hall Brothers Cards (Hallmark) and Citizens National Bank, both in Emporia. She worked at North Side Bank in Omaha, Neb., before she retired.
The daughter of George and Ethel Jacobs Lodle, she was born July 2, 1926, at Emporia. She graduated from Emporia High School in 1944 and attended the College of Emporia.
She married Robert K. Morgan of Omaha on Feb. 5, 1954, at Emporia. They moved to Omaha in 1956. He survives.
Mrs. Morgan was a member of the Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Omaha and the church altar guild.
She is also survived by one son, Phil Morgan of Omaha; one sister, Novella Merry of Emporia; two brothers, George Lodle of Emporia and Elwood Lodle of Las Vegas, Nev.; and one grandson. A sister, Lucille Melton, and a brother, Robert Lodle, died earlier.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. The Rev. John Davis of the church will conduct the service. The family will meet friends from 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church until service time. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. A service was held today at the Luther Memorial Church in Omaha.
The family suggests that, instead of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Luther Memorial Church in Omaha and sent in care of the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, P.O. Box 175, Emporia, KS 66801.
The Heafey-Heafey-Hoffman-Dworak-Cutler West Center Chapel was in charge of arrangements in Omaha.
