Mary Lou Hughes, Coffeyville
Mary Lou Hughes, formerly of Independence died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2007, at Coffeyville Medical Center. She was 80.
Mrs. Hughes worked at Reed’s IGA in Independence for more than 20 years before she retired. She then worked part-time as a housekeeper for several Independence families. She spent the last year as a resident of Asbury Village in Coffeyville.
The daughter of Asa and Lena Tindle, she was born Thanksgiving Day 1927 in Pawhuska, Okla.
She is survived by three children, Tami Douglas of Emporia, Terry Hughes of Eureka and Tim Hughes of Wisconsin; and 10 grandchildren. A son, Richard Allen Hughes, died earlier.
Mrs. Hughes was cremated. Inurnment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery at Independence.
