The memorial service for Kerryn Brooks Simpson of Overland Park and formerly of Emporia will be at 7 p.m. today at St. Andrew Christian Church in Olathe. The family will meet friends at 6 p.m. today at the church.
The family suggests donations to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Mrs. Simpson died Friday, Nov. 23, 2007, at Overland Park Regional Hospital. She was 56 and had multiple sclerosis.
She was a speech and language pathologist and worked in public schools in Hutchinson and Kansas City, Kan., for 25 years until she retired in 2003. She also was an advocate, promoting social justice issues most of her adult life.
The daughter of John and Carolyn Clevenger Kuhn, she was born Aug. 13, 1951, at Great Bend. She graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1969 and from Fort Hays State University and Emporia State University.
She married John Simpson on Aug. 8, 1971. He survives
Mrs. Simpson was a lifelong member of Disciples of Christ Church and most recently, a member of St. Andrew Christian Church in Olathe.
She is also survived by a daughter, Erin Simpson of Kansas City, Mo.; her parents of Emporia; and three brothers, Andy Kuhn of Emporia, Bruce Kuhn of Lenexa and Herb Kuhn of Washington, D.C.
