Carolyn Sue Clark, Topeka

1942 - 2007

Former Emporian Carolyn Sue Clark of Topeka died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2007, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. She was 65.
Mrs. Clark was a nurse in the emergency department of St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, Idaho, for 18 years. She moved from Boise to Emporia in 1998 to help care for her parents and from Emporia to Topeka In 2004.
The daughter of Marvin M. and Pauline E. Harbour Crail, she was born Aug. 12, 1942, at Emporia. She married Charles E. Clark Jr., in November 1961. He died in 1994.
Mrs. Clark was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church. She also was a member of Miriam Chapter 14 of the Order of the Eastern Star, a quilting group and the Red Hat Ladies, all in Emporia.
She is survived by one daughter, Christi R. Potter of Topeka; two sons, Charles E. Clark III of Ririe, Idaho, and Corey E. Clark of Nampa, Idaho; two sisters, Janice Purcell of Enid, Okla., and Judy Brown of Flagstaff, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Survivors in Emporia include an aunt, Cleta Bigler.
The memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Grace United Methodist Church. The Rev. Mic McGuire will conduct the service. Mrs. Clark was cremated. After the service, the family invites friends to a potluck meal in Memorial Hall of the church.

The family is asking that those attending the service not wear black.
