Bill L. Welch of Madison died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2007, at his home.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by the Wilson Funeral Home of Madison.
Funeral services for Bill L. Welch of Madison will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Wilson Funeral Home in Madison. The Rev. Mike Brazzle will officiate. Burial will follow at Blakely Cemetery northwest of Madison.
The family will meet friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Welch died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2007, at his home. He was 71.
The son of Clifford and Thelma Marshall Welch, he was born Jan. 5, 1936, in Frankfort, where he also grew up. Mr. Welch moved to Madison in 1967.
He was a forklift operator for Sauder Custom Fabrication and later was a machinist for ABZ Manufacturing in Madison. He served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1964. He married Barbara Ann Thompson on Jan. 27, 1968, in Eureka. She died Sept. 4, 1990.
Mr. Welch is survived by two sons, Frank Welch of Madison and Troy Welch of Phoenix, Ariz.; five sisters, Waneta Burton of Baldwin City, Twyla Cerasari of Placida, Fla., Betty Rudy of Mansfield, Texas, Beverly Zech of Salina and Wanda Brummitt of Ottawa; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Four infant siblings died earlier.
