Thelma L. Taylor died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2007, at Olathe Medical Center. She was 88.
Services are pending at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.
Thelma Lorie Taylor, a resident of the Emporia Presbyterian Manor, died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2007, at the Olathe Medical Center in Olathe. She was 88.
Mrs. Taylor was a sales clerk at Brown’s Shoe Fit in Emporia before she retired.
The daughter of Amby and Hazel Buckman Wood, she was born Feb. 4, 1919, at McPherson. She married James W. Taylor on June 15, 1941, at Emporia. He died earlier.
Mrs. Wood was a member of the First Christian Church and the Christian Women’s Foundation. She was a Pink Lady at Newman Regional Health for 22 years and Medical Arts Clinic, a member of the Twins Association, 4-H Alumni, Emporia Friends of the Zoo, Mental Health Association and a former member of the auxiliary to American Legion Ball-McColm Post 5.
She is survived by two daughters, Patrice Greenwood of Emporia and Lenise Eddings of Wellsville; one sister, Velma Peak of Emporia; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. One son, Wesley Taylor, died Dec. 16, 2003.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m Friday at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home Chapel. The rev. Bob Colerick of the First Christian Church will conduct the service. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
