Glenn Dale Holmes, Gordon, Ga.
1932 - 2006
Former Madison resident Glenn Dale Holmes of Gordon, Ga., died of heart failure Nov. 19, 2006, at the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon, Ga. He was 75.
Mr. Holmes, a welder, worked in oil fields across the United States and around the world. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
The son of Eric and Lela M. Gilliland Holmes, he was born Oct. 24, 1932, in Woodson County. When he was young, his family moved to Madison where he grew up. His second marriage was to Linda Brown on Dec. 22, 1984. She survives.
Mr. Holmes was a member of VFW Post 6077 in Hawkinsville, Ga.
Survivors in the area include one daughter, Corbi Jill Holmes Admire of Emporia and one granddaughter, Danica Admire, of Emporia. Mr. Holmes is also survived by four stepchildren of Gordon, Ga.; one brother, Paul Holmes of Harper; and one sister, Arlene Jones of Kansas City, Mo.
The funeral and burial were private services held by the Georgia family members in Georgia.
