Johnnie Rodney Dorsey, Osage City

1956 - 2007

Johnnie Rodney Dorsey, 50, of Osage City died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007, in an industrial accident at Ottawa.
Mr. Dorsey worked for Schuff Steel Midwest in Ottawa and had been an electrician at KanBuild in Osage City. He served in the Army Reserve for 13 years at Osage City.
The son of Floyd Judson Dorsey Jr., and Gwendolyn Ginevra Annis, he was born Dec. 13, 1956, at Augsburg, Germany. He graduated from Osage City High School in 1975.
He married Brenda Kay Coulter on Nov. 8, 1975, at Minneapolis. She survives.
He was a member of the Osage City Baptist Temple and the American Red Cross.
He is also survived by three sons, Michael James Dorsey of Osage City, Rodney Gene and Benjamin Mark Dorsey, both of Burlingame; his parents of Wamego; three sisters, Myrtle “Murt” Anne McKinney and Kitty Gwen Sutton, both of Wamego, and Karen Pauline Haynes of Florida; three brothers, Carl Quinton Dorsey of Carbondale, Ozzy Annis Dorsey of Wamego, and Floyd “Trey” Judson Dorsey III of Rogers, Ark.; and three grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the temple. The family will meet friends there two hours before the service.
Military services at the temple will be conducted by a Fort Riley honor guard. Mr. Dorsey will be cremated after the service.
