David Kenneth Gerleman, Boulder, Colo.

Olpe native David Kenneth Gerleman died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2007, at Hospice in Boulder, Colo. He was 66.
Mr. Gerleman worked for more than 20 years for Pan American World Airways and for several years was station manager in Nairobi, Kenya, Africa. He also was director of maintenance at Golden West Senior Residence in Boulder for nine years, where he was a resident the last three years.
The son of Alfred James and Loretta Agnes Rues Gerleman, he was born Dec. 5, 1940, in Olpe. He attended St. Joseph Grade School and high school at Olpe.
Mr. Gerleman is survived by a son, Eric Gerleman of Los Angeles, Calif.; seven brothers, Gregory Gerleman of Emporia, Phil Gerleman of Burlington, Jerry Gerleman of Leavenworth, Charles Richard Gerleman of Salina, John Gerleman of Appleton, Wash., Jim Gerleman of San Francisco, Calif., and Maurice Ramon Gerleman of Colorado Springs, Colo.
He was a Troop Scout leader for eight years when his son earned his Eagle Scout.
The service to celebrate his life will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Golden West in Boulder, Colo. Mr. Gerleman was cremated with his ashes spread in the Rocky Mountains.
