Robert Eugene Wood Sr., died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2007, at his home at Jacobs Creek. He was 75.
Mr. Woods worked as a final line repairman for General Motors in Sun Valley, Calif., from 1954 until he retired. In 1986, he and his wife moved to Jacobs Creek.
The son of Kenneth Leroy and Hazel Viola Winner Woods, he was born Dec. 9, 1931, at Kansas City, Kan. He married Ruth Creek on Dec. 16, 1948, at Kansas City, Mo. She died April 24, 2004.
Mr. Woods is survived by three sons, Kenneth Woods of Jacobs Creek, Robert E. Woods Jr., of Lancaster, Calif., and Michael Woods of Simi Valley, Calif.; his stepmother, Leta Woods of Shawnee Mission; two sisters, Patricia Mead of Mckees, Pa., and Barbara Updyke of Yellville, Ark.; one stepsister, Tempie Muchnick of Shawnee Mission; 14 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. A son, Fred Lee Woods, died Nov. 29, 2001. A stepbrother, Bob Ricketts, also died earlier.
The graveside service will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in Strawn Cemetery at Jacobs Creek. The family will meet friends from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at Jones Funeral Home in Burlington.
