Max H. Caldwell, Burlington

1926 - 2007

Max H. Caldwell of Burlington died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2007, at the Life Care Center in Burlington. He was 80.
Mr. Caldwell lived in Ottawa and was a truck driver until he retired. He lived in Burlington the past 20 years.
The son of Harvey and Jessie Caldwell, he was born Nov. 13, 1926, at Ottawa. He married Mary Ann Lucand in 1951 and she died earlier. He married Verla Cates in 1962. She also died earlier.
Mr. Caldwell was a member of the Burlington Bible Church.
He is survived by two sons, Max David Caldwell of Osawatomie and Mark Eugene Caldwell of Odessa, Mo.; one daughter, Rebecca Sue Stanley of Garnett; three stepchildren, Shirley Coffman of Ottawa, Jean Cates of Centropolis and Kenny Cates of Sacramento, Calif.; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his longtime friend and companion, Elva Freeman of Burlington.
The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Jones Funeral Home in Burlington. Mr. Caldwell will be cremated after the service. Inurnment will be in Highland Cemetery at Ottawa at a later date. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
