Danny Ray Lambert, Arkansas City

Former Emporia resident Danny Ray Lambert of Arkansas City and formerly of Winfield, died Monday, Oct. 29, 2007, at the Harry Hynes Hospice Center in Wichita. He was 56.
Mr. Lambert worked for the State of Kansas as a supervisor for the Social and Rehabilitation Services.
The son of Charley A. and Lucille R. Rice Lambert, he was born Jan. 9, 1951, at East Prairie, Mo. He grew up in Winfield and graduated from Winfield High School in 1968. He graduated from Southwestern College in 1975 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and from the University of Kansas in 1981 with a master’s degree in social work.
He married Julia A. Lauver on Dec. 27, 1963, at Winfield. They lived in Winfield, Phoenix, Topeka and Emporia. They divorced in 1984.
Mr. Lambert was a member of the KU Alumni Association.
He is survived by four brothers, James Lambert and Gerry Lambert, both of Arkansas City and Allan Lambert and David Lambert, both of Tulsa, Okla.; five sisters, Shirley Wood and Glenda Campbell, both of Arkansas City, Nancy Karen Brown of Coffeyville, Jean Hinton of Goldsboro, N.C., and Betty Bowlby of Lawton, Okla.; and his friend and former wife, Julia Lauver Lambert of Winfield. His parents; and two sisters, Carole Stone and Virginia Moore, died earlier.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home in Arkansas City. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery at Winfield.
