Neva Geraldine Yahns, Chanute

Neva Geraldine Yahns, a longtime resident of Chanute, died Monday, May 21, 2007, at the Chanute Healthcare Center where she lived for the past five months. She was 90. Survivors in this area include her halfsister, Norma J. Ronsick of Emporia.
Mrs. Yahns was a waitress in Chanute and a volunteer worker at the hospital and First United Methodist Church. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for many years and held various offices at the local and district levels. She helped start the Avenue of Flags in Chanute and worked several years helping to display them.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church in Chanute. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Chanute. Friends may call until 8 p.m. today at the Penwell Gabel Johnson Chapel in Chanute.
Memorial contributions to Horizon Hospice or Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center in Chanute may be sent in care of the funeral home, 101 N. Highland St., Chanute, KS 68720.
