Donna Jean Rohrer, Burlington
Donna Jean Rohrer died Tuesday, May 22, 2007, at her home near Burlington. She was 61.
Mrs. Rohrer and her husband, Harry, moved to Burlington in 1969 and opened Rohrer’s Body Shop. She was bookkeeper for the business from 1969 until 1996, when they moved to Yates Center and opened Rohrer’s, which they operated until 2001. In 2002, they returned to Burlington, where she was an emergency room clerk at the Coffey County Hospital until she retired in November 2003 because of failing health. During her college years, she worked at Gambles in Mound City, Shannon Hardware in Iola and Western Insurance in Fort Scott.
The daughter of Henry A. and Virginia B. Randall Dozier, she was born Nov. 12, 1945, in Kansas City, Mo. She graduated from Blue Mound High School in 1963 and from Allen County Community College in Iola with an associate’s degree in business.
She married Harry Dean Rohrer on March 22, 1968, at Grosskrotzenburg, Germany, where he was stationed while in the Army. They moved to Topeka after he was discharged from military service. He survives.
Mrs. Rohrer was a member of the New York Valley Church of God at Yates Center.
She is also survived by two sons, Doug Rohrer and Travis Rohrer, both of Burlington; her mother of Garnett; three sisters, Carolyn McGee and Ladean Kempinger, both of Blue Mound, and Betty Lytle of Garnett; one brother, Henry Dozier Jr. of Fox, Ark.; and four grandchildren.
The funeral was held today at the Jones Funeral Home in Burlington. Burial was in Graceland Cemetery at Burlington.
