Ralph Loyd Gentry, Council Grove
Former Council Grove resident Ralph Loyd Gentry of Texas died Oct. 16, 2006. He was 92.
Mr. Gentry was a mail carrier in Council Grove for several years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
The son of Lee and Carrie Lewis Gentry, he was born March 1, 1914, at Maple City. He married Kathryn Linn in 1936. She died in 1974. He married Viola Rich of Herington in 1975. She died in 2005.
Mr. Gentry was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.
He is survived by two sons, Linn Gentry and Dale Gentry, both of Texas.
The inurnment service will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Greenwood Cemetery at Council Grove.
The family suggests that, instead of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association and sent in care of the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 137 N. Union St., Council Grove, KS 66846.
